Most car accidents result in varying degrees of muscle, tendon and ligament injury combined with joint injury.  Accurate diagnosis of these injuries is the basis of successful recovery.

We start with listening to you about how the accident happened. We know that MVA’s are overwhelming and having someone listen to you is an important step.  We need to understand what you’re feeling.

We’ll examine all of your injuries carefully.  From this we’ll give you a diagnosis and a treatment plan designed to heal your injuries and get you feeling well again.

From treating your injury to helping you rebuild your strength afterwards, we have you covered.

We utilize a blend of Chiropractic, advanced soft tissue treatment methods like Active Release Technique and Graston Technique with our highly trained massage therapists to ensure the pain associated with injury goes away quickly.

FAQs

How does it work with my car insurance?

Everyone in Alberta with car insurance is automatically entitled to treatment under the current ‘Whiplash Protocols’ whether you were at fault or not. Please note: Once you have submitted your accident claim you need to be seen within the first 10 business days following the accident for your Chiropractor to make an injury claim.

Following a car accident a Medical Doctor, Chiropractor or Physiotherapist can open a claim for treatment. You do not require a referral to see a Chiropractor for your initial assessment. This is known as Section A of your car insurance.

How many treatments do I get?

Some injuries are covered for 7 treatments following their initial exam and more severe injuries are covered for 21 treatments within 90 days (Section A), following the accident. These treatments may include chiropractic care, massage therapy or physiotherapy, but must not equate to more than 21 sessions in total.

Are treatments paid for by my car insurance?

Yes! If your initial assessment shows that you have MSK injuries resulting from your MVA you are covered under the Whiplash protocols. This injury can be anywhere on your body but areas most commonly injured are the neck, upper and lower back regions. Shoulders and arms as well as legs and ankles are also commonly injured.

What happens when I’ve had my 7 or 21 treatments?

At the end of this period, we perform a re-examination.  If you have reached pre-injury status and your injuries are resolved you will be discharged from care.

If you have not fully recovered from your injuries we will request additional treatment from your motor vehicle accident insurance. This is Section B of your car insurance. In Section B the maximum coverage for chiropractic care is $1000 and for massage therapy is $350.  However, insurance companies require you to use all of your own extended health benefits prior to accessing these additional funds.  A statement indicating that the benefits have been exhausted is required and we will supply that for you.  Our administrative team is happy to coordinate with your MVA insurance once your benefits have been exhausted.

Lastly, in some of our more severe cases we may refer you to a very good Personal Injury Law Office for consultation.  Most of us do not know our rights when dealing with our insurance company regarding getting money to help with treatment of our injuries.  .

Can I switch to your clinic even if I’ve already started treatment at another clinic?

Yes! This happens frequently. You’ll need to let us know the number of treatments you’ve had if you haven’t used them all.  We’ll take it from there.

As only one examination is paid for by Section A, patients transferring must pay for our initial examination.

Do you direct bill?

Yes! We direct bill your motor vehicle insurance company under Section A.
